About Us
Founded in 2023 by Elizabeth Moreno, who took up bungee at 60. Her story, why classes stay small, and what we check before you leave the floor.
Our story
She started at sixty
Elizabeth Moreno turned 60 in 2023, fifteen years into a personal health journey. That January she saw a bungee fitness video on Instagram and thought she would love to try it. Then she went looking, and found the closest place to bungee was a two-hour drive south.
So she flew to Oklahoma, trained at Sling Bungee, and came home to open the first bungee fitness studio in St. Johns County. She had exercised most of her life, she says, but never found a kind of cardio she actually enjoyed until she found this one.
In her own words:
“I believe we all have the power through our choices to make small changes that can actually yield massive results in terms of our mind, body, and soul. One step at a time and one day at a time.”
“I believe we are never too old to start something new.”
Our mission
Small by Design.
Personal by Nature.
Our mission is to help people soar into the best version of themselves through movement. That only works when your instructor can actually see you, so we keep the studio intentionally small. You will never feel lost in a crowded room here.
There is a set number of bungee stations on the floor, and we don’t pretend otherwise. That limit is what gives you personal attention, plenty of space to move, and a coach who can watch your form, correct it, and help you get the most out of every bounce. Every flyer is fitted into their own harness, individually, before anything leaves the ground.
Soaring Bungee Fitness Studio is a boutique studio in the St. Johns County / St. Augustine area, the first of its kind here and locally owned since 2023. The angel wings on the studio wall were painted by hand. Most people end up standing in front of them at some point, usually mid-air.

Never too old to start
Bungee fitness after 55
Bungee fitness classes are an excellent way for seniors to improve their health while keeping the impact on their joints low. It is the reason this studio exists at all — the founder was 60 when she opened it.
-
Low impact on the joints
The bungee cords absorb shock and reduce stress on the body, which makes it suitable for seniors with joint concerns.
-
Improved strength and stability
Particularly beneficial for seniors looking to enhance core strength and balance, reducing the risk of falls.
-
Enhanced flexibility
Supported by the cords, you move through a range that is hard to reach unassisted.
-
Moderate cardiovascular exercise
A real cardio workout at a pace that is set by you, not by the class.
Our instructors are knowledgeable about adapting bungee exercises for seniors. You will be under the supervision of a qualified instructor, you will progress gradually, and we will work with you to make sure your workout is tailored to your needs and your situation.
Safety & certification
What happens before anyone leaves the floor
Flying is the fun part. Everything below is the unglamorous part that makes the fun part safe, and none of it is optional.
Who is teaching you
Elizabeth trained and certified as a bungee fitness instructor at Sling Bungee in Oklahoma — the reason for the flight, back in 2023.
She has also been a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach since 2015, which is where the “mind, body & soul” part of how she talks about this comes from.
Everyone signs before they fly
All participants fill out and sign our health questionnaire and liability waiver before they can take any class. You can e-sign it in the WellnessLiving app, or fill out a paper copy in person.
Your harness is fitted to you
Bungee stations are tailored to the individual and the set-up takes time, which is why we ask you to arrive 15 minutes early. Nobody is handed a harness and pointed at a cord.
The doors lock once class starts
We do this so that no one can walk in while a class is in session and risk injury to themselves or to the people already flying. It is also why we ask you not to be late.
Real health and weight restrictions apply.

You are never too old to start something new
Elizabeth had to fly to Oklahoma to try this. You don’t — the studio is on E Twincourt Trail, and your first class is Soaring Beginners.
